Day 2 continues with us heading back to the World Showcase for lunch!
We had lunch at the Lotus Blossom Cafe. Do yourself a favor if you go there, split a meal with someone! Since it was our first time there, we had no idea the portion sizes were so large.
I had the Beef Rice Bowl
Mike had the Orange Chicken with Steamed Rice
We didn’t finish either bowl and honestly while it was okay tasting, we probably would explore other options in the World Showcase before going back there.
Time for a leisurely boat ride with Donald in Mexico!
After the boat ride, we went back to the International Gateway to visit Tink’s Butterfly Garden. So many beautiful flowers and butterflies were inside! I did my best to dodge the butterflies lol…I love them but not a fan of them landing on me!
Then it was time to head over to Innoventions West for our private meet and greet with Disney Characters! It’s a perk of having the Chase Disney Visa credit card. It’s offered daily in the afternoons. We got to see Mickey and Goofy!
Another perk is getting a complimentary 5×7 print of the photo so I picked that up later in the day.
Time for Test Track! I am not a big fan of this ride but I try to ride it once every other trip to make Mike happy LOL! I have to say the newer version of the ride isn’t as bad as the old one. It’s a bit more tame (so the thrill seekers aren’t as crazy about it!)
Mike had a Fast Pass for Mission Space so we went over there together. I had never seen that area of the park! I wanted to see the Buzz Lightyear topiary and then I went to use my Fast Pass on Journey into Imagination with Figment. I wanted to use my 3rd one since we were going to park hop to Hollywood Studios that night and we were hoping to get a 4th Fast Pass.
I went to the United Kingdom to meet Winnie the Pooh & Tigger while Mike was riding Test Track again. I got a surprise in line, he showed up behind me just before going in to meet them! This is such a cool meet & greet room!
I thought the English Tea Garden was adorable 🙂
A little corner of the UK
I got to meet Alice 🙂
We heard the British Revolution start to play while we were waiting to meet Alice and had some time before dinner, so we went to the gardens and listened to them play. We really enjoyed their performance!
A quick stop for a picture in one of my favorite spots. I love having the Eiffel Tower in the background!
On our way to Beach Club for dinner at Beaches & Cream! We waited for The Friendship Boat for a bit but storms were rolling in and the boats were docked. We had to speed walk over to the Beach Club and barely made it before it started to pour!
Our dinner review and pictures of that area will be in the next recap!

I”m loving your recaps. Seeing these pictures reminds me of my brief day there a few years back when the garden show was going on and getting to see all the beautiful flowers and topiaries. I just might have to look at my Disney pics again and make another layout. I’m sure there is something I haven’t covered there. 🙂 Thanks for the memories.

I remember your trip, Barbara. I think I have a printed topiary pic somewhere that you shared with the group 🙂
Andrea
It’s really fun to read these and see your photos. It takes me back to WDW, and shows me the things we completely missed. I guess we must go back! LOL
Kristie
I’m glad you are enjoying the recaps, Andrea! Even after 4 trips, there are still things we’ve missed at various parks LOL! Yes, you must go back!

Great photos! I also like the butterflies landing on me, but they never do! You got lots of character photos—did you FP them? So cool!!!
Kristie
Thanks Kathy! We didn’t FP any character meets except for Mickey in MK. The only one (right now) that you can FP in Epcot is the Character Spot. We waited maybe 15 minutes in standby. Winnie the Pooh & Tigger were supposed to be FP+ only M&G after our trip but that changed. We went towards the end of their meeting time and only waited 5 minutes! We were very lucky! Alice was about a 20 minute wait but since we didn’t have anything else to do, I waited.

Oh I love all these photos. The alice photo is my favorite – gorgeous backdrop! But that Tigger is just crazy neon red for the cute room you are in. Why cant they get tigger right!
