Streets of America {a Disney layout}

Today I am sharing a double page layout from last weekend. The prompt for my Yahoo group challenge was to use a PL card on our page. I used 3×4 cards from WRMK Daily DIY cards that I picked up at Target quite awhile ago.

I picked out the cards and then the paper which is from Fancy Pants Memories Captured collection. They go quite well together! The pictures are from Disney’s Hollywood Studios Streets of America. This is where they host the Osborne Lights each year. Once upon a time, the streets were used for filming movies and/or tv shows (since I didn’t start visiting the parks until recently, I’m not up on all the details of the park’s 25 year history). The card on the right page explains why we saw several people walking around the park all dressed up that day. They were participating in something called Dapper Days.

That’s all for now! I haven’t set foot in my craft room all week, maybe later!

Cowboy Goofy {a Disney layout}

Good morning!  If you are here for my Disney Wordless Wednesday Blog Hop, please click over to my new Disney blog – Mouse Ear Adventures!  Last week I was thinking about separating my Disney trip reports/photos from My Paper Life and my husband surprised me by building the site over the weekend. I’m still in the process of moving some posts over but hope to have more frequent posts there soon!

Today I am sharing a layout from the weekend, it was for an inspiration challenge in my Yahoo group and I used an ancient sketch from Got Sketch? that I had saved on Pinterest.

In addition to the ancient sketch, I also used some ancient paper and a border sticker.  The denim paper is from the open stock papers at one of the big box stores at least 8 or 9 years ago. The border sticker is from K&Company.  I cut the charms from Bazzill Bling paper (also several years old!) The burlap is from Stampin’ Up!

Thanks for visiting!

Chip ‘n Dale {a Disney layout}

I’m back with my first layout for the month! I had a sketch set aside last month for Sketch N Scrap and never had a chance to do it.  Today I used the sketch and an inspiration photo shared in one of my scrappy groups to create this page.

I used the October Afternoon Sasparilla collection from a few years ago for everything but the Thickers and cowboy boot. I die cut the cowboy boot from brown cardstock and painted it with Cinnamon Brown Silk Glaze. Once it dried I added to the layout with a copper brad from my stash.  The photo doesn’t capture the shimmer/sparkle on it.

Thanks for stopping by!

Selfie on the Speedway

I had high hopes of having time to craft today but that didn’t happen so I’m sharing the one of the pages I made last weekend during my scrappy frenzy.

I found this very cool tire track background in the Silhouette store and knew it would be perfect for these pictures I took of myself and of the Tomorrowland Speedway on our 2013 trip. The speed limit sign is also from the store.

Today I went to see The Fault in Our Stars with my friend, Courtney. We knew it would be sad going in based on other friends that have seen the movie, but we were still unprepared by how much we would cry and how awesome the movie would be.  I stopped at Barnes & Noble on the way home to buy the book so I can read it.  Usually I do it the other way around but it was kind of nice this time not knowing what would happen.

Hoping to have a crafty day tomorrow, stay tuned!

P.S.  I haven’t forgotten about my trip recaps, will hopefully get a few more prepared to post next week!
