Sunny Eyes

It’s Wednesday! Yay, it’s almost time for another 3 day weekend 🙂

I’m here to share this week’s Flutter By Wednesdays challenge. I know this week is going to be a popular one for sure. The challenge is to use ANY WINGED THING!  Just for this week only!! Then it’s back to butterflies and fairies.  Click HERE to enter your creation and check out all the DT cards!

We are sponsored by Susana’s Custom Art and Card Design for this challenge.  The lucky duck winner will receive a $25 gift certificate to spend at SCACD!!  That is such an awesome prize, I wish I could win it!  I looooooooove shopping at SCACD and communicating with Susana, the owner! She is such a sweetie!!

Here is my card. I stuck to tradition and used butterflies 🙂

I started my card by running Papertrey Ink cardstock through the Craft Concepts Achebe embossing folder in my Cuttlebug. Then I spritzed it with Heidi Swapp Color Shine spritz in Tropicana Teal – just so you know it washes off hands easily 🙂  Next I painted the butterflies with Luminarte Silks Acrylic Glaze in Pomegranite, the flowers were painted with Honey Amber and the greenery in Fern.  Then I realized I painted one of the flowers are part of the butterfly so I went over that with the Honey Amber.  To further make the butterflies stand out, I added some of the Ice glaze.  The glazes are so cool and you can do so much with them. I ordered more the same night I made this card LOL! Can’t wait to get them!!

While the card base was drying, I stamped Sunny Eyes from the Eyes of Beauty and Dreams collection from the Susana Loves Stamps line on to Copic Xpress paper with Memento Tuxedo Black ink. She was then colored with my copics and I fussy cut her. She was partially popped up with pop dots and the suns/wings/shoes with painted with Gold Lame Smooch.

I love how the card turned out and I hope you do too!  It was so much fun to create!!
