Christmas in July 2015 – Day 22

Tonight’s card is for the Inspired by a Christmas Carol challenge at Holly Jolly Christmas and the tall & skinny sketch at Mojo Monday.

My usual go to Christmas songs are Rudolph the Red Nosed Reindeer and Frosty the Snowman.  I mentioned to my husband that I wanted to do a song challenge and he said Silent Night. I remembered I had a few stamp sets from Verve that were released last year and chose Weary World and O Holy Night as my song.

2015 Card 79 - Verve Weary World

I broke my rule of using the papers I chose for this month.  I didn’t have anything traditional in that pile so I used Bo Bunny’s Christmas Cottage from last year.  I wrapped some twine from The Twinery around my card panel before gluing it down.  The image was colored with my Zig Color Clean brushes, it’s been awhile since I used them.

Here is the sketch~

Stamps: Verve Stamps Weary World

Ink: Ranger Archival Potting Soil, SU Night of Navy

CS: MFT Kraft, Sweet Tooth, Tim Holtz distress cardstock

PP: Bo Bunny Christmas Cottage

Other: Zig Clean Color brushes, The Twinery twine

Christmas in July 2015 – Day 18

Here is Day 18’s card on the 25th of July, only 5 months til the big day!!  I absolutely love how this card came out and not sure I want to send it to anyone!

I used the Viva La Verve July Week #3 sketch with Verve Stamps Pinecone Christmas from last year. It is such a pretty set!  I also went a bit pattern paper crazy with this one, great sketch for it!

2015 Card 74 - Verve Pinecone Christmas

Funny story – I loved the tabbed border on the sketch and thought how can I recreate that?  I was going to hand cut one and then remembered I had a few tab dies from MFT.  Well when I was searching through my dies, I found tabbed borders!  I had gotten them from MFT as a free with $60 gift and kept them even though I figured I wouldn’t use them. Ha!

Here is the sketch~

I’ll be back shortly with another card. I didn’t remember until this afternoon it was PTI Blog Hop day so I whipped up a quick card to enter.

Christmas in July 2015 – Day 10

Good morning!

I made this card last night but it was late and needed to dry.  I started with Viva La Verve’s Week 2 sketch and Verve’s Christmas Joy stamp set.

2015 Card 66 - Verve Christmas Joy

The tags were cut with MFT’s Tag Blueprints 2 and the circle was cut with MFT’s Stitched Circle Stax. I colored the bird in with copics and added some Stardust stickles to the bottom. I added some ribbon to the tag, that scrunchy stuff that was popular a few years ago.

Here is the sketch~

Have a great day! Not sure what I’ll be up too, hopefully more crafting!

Christmas in July 2015 – Day 4

Tonight I inked up Verve Stamps Santa’s Helper for the first time and used the July Week #1 sketch at Viva La Verve sketches.

Isn’t this reindeer adorable? 🙂  He wasn’t too hard to fussy cut thankfully.

2015 Card 59 - Verve Stamps Santas Helper

I used some old stash on this and mostly scraps at that! They are from Basic Grey Jovial and I added an old Prima poinsettia for embellishment.
