Just Because for Share Joy Challenge

I made this card on Friday and mailed it out to a friend to say hello today.  I used the sketch and tic tac toe challenge at the Share Joy Challenge.

I used one of my favorite summer sets from Taylored Expressions, A Day in Paradise, for the main image and sentiment. The splatters were created using a stamp from SU Gorgeous Grunge and Marina Mist ink stamped off once.

I chose the first line for the tic tac toe portion of the challenge – wood veneer, stitching and ink splatter.

I just love how this card turned out!

Thanks for stopping by!

Stamps: Taylored Expressions A Day in Paradise, SU Gorgeous Grunge

Ink: SU Night of Navy, Marina Mist

Celebrating Summer #8

We are on to the last couple of Celebrating Summer posts! I know summer isn’t over for several weeks but I have something else up my sleeve for September 🙂

Another card from my crop last weekend, this one uses Sketch #554 from SCS.  I liked the split panel at the bottom.  At first I was going to use it as a sentiment panel but then decided to create a sea scene and cut the panel to add interest. I think it turned out pretty good!

2015 Card 88 - TE Under the Sea

I stamped several images from Taylored Expressions Under the Sea stamp set on Canson Watercolor paper and then colored everything with my Zig Clean Color brushes.  The background was a pain to color! The sentiment was stamped from the same set and then I added twine from the Twinery to finish it off.

Here is the sketch~

Have a great night!

Celebrating Summer #7

Here is another card I made at the crop. This one for the sketch at Sketch Saturday.

2015 Card 84 - Riley Pool

I used an old Riley stamp back from when he was sold at Hanna Stamps (what a throwback, right??)  I don’t know what his official name is because it’s not on the stamp and I couldn’t find him online.  Riley was watercolored with Derwent Inktense pencils on Canson Mix Media 98 lb. paper.

I used Echo Park Splash paper for the background, MFT Orange Fizz Cardstock for the base and sprinkled Pretty Pink Posh Sunny Days sequins to finish the card.

Here is the sketch~

Have a great night!

Stamps: Riley from Hanna Stamps, sentiment (um…don’t remember which set I pulled it from!)

Ink: Ranger Archival Jet Black

CS: MFT Orange Fizz, Canson Mix Media 98 lb

Other: MFT Circle Stax, Derwent Inktense pencils, Tim Holtz detail water brush, Pretty Pink Posh Sunny Days sequins

Celebrating Summer #6

I am back with another card from my crop. This is one of my favorites!

I used the MFT Weekly Sketch Challenge with my LJD Sea Life stamp set.

2015 Card 87 - MFT LJD Sea Life

I started by die cutting a piece of Canson Mix Media 98 lb paper with MFT Stitched Oval Stax and watercolored it with MFT Sno Cone ink on an acrylic block.  After it dried, I stamped the leafy image in MFT Sour Apple ink and the bubbles in MFT Berrylicious ink.  I then die cut the fish with the coordinating dies with MFT Sweet Tooth cardstock and stamped the images with MFT Orange Fizz and MFT After Midnight inks.  The sand dollar was stamped with SU So Saffron ink and attached to the sentiment piece which was stamped in MFT After Midnight ink.  The patterned paper is from Echo Park Splash.  The card base is MFT Berrylicious cardstock.

Here is the sketch~

Have a great night!
