Goodbye Mojo Monday

Mojo Monday, one of the first sketch challenges out there, is ending it’s run with Sketch 500. I was so very sad to read the news! I have followed this site from the beginning.

I decided to use their last sketch for my husband’s birthday card. I have this post scheduled to go live after I give him the card lol. This is also card #3 for my Craft from My Stash challenge.

The inside sentiment is what inspired me to use this MFT Make a Wish stamp set. It’s one long line that wouldn’t fit on the block so I bent it and selective inked each part to make it go on two lines.

The front of the card was a labor of love trying to ink each candle individually as it was all one stamp! The coordinating dies cut them out individually. I stamped the panel behind the candles with MFT Balloon Strings background and the bottom panel is the MFT Happy Birthday background.

Here is the sketch ~

Have a great night!

Ink: Persimmon, Orange Zest, Lemon Chiffon, Daffodil, Spearmint, Blueberry

40th Birthday Card

Good morning!!

I have been meaning to post since the beginning of the month and keep getting sidetracked with other things.

(Graphic made using an old photo of my room and the Rhonna Designs app)

June kicked off my 3rd Annual Craft from My Stash, where I focus more on using my craft stash and less on purchasing new products. Two exceptions are a new catalog order from SU (already in the works before I decided to run my challenge again lol) and a trip to the LSS in August for my bday. My goal is to complete 10-15 projects per month (cards, layouts, etc.)

A few weeks ago, one of my dear friends celebrated her 40th birthday. I wasn’t sure what to do for her card and came across the sketch from As You Can See It, the day it was posted.

I used SU’s Number of Years stamp set and coordinating dies for the numbers and sentiment. The scalloped square was stamped with sprinkles from the Cool Treats stamp set. The patterned paper is from the coordinating Tasty Treats dsp.

Here is the sketch~

I’ll be back in a bit with another card!

Happy May!

Hello!

Tonight I sat at my desk to stamp just because for the first time in over 5 months. I have been making cards for holidays/birthdays as needed and attending card afternoons, but to just sit in my room to stamp for fun? Nope, it hasn’t happened in a long time.

I pulled out all of my Stampin’ Up! supplies that are retiring – why? I rarely ever part with them lol…but I thought it might be a good idea to try and use some of it up before ordering from the new catalog next month. I’m sure there will be one or ten things I must have lol!

For tonight’s card, I cut up card bases and then 3 panels of white cardstock in varying sizes. I picked one and decided to use the tall flower from the Avant Garden stamp set. It was a Sale-a-Bration set I got a few months ago and never inked. I paired it with the Blooms & Bliss paper and used colors from that palette to watercolor the flower.

Thanks for stopping by!
