Christmas in July 2016 Days 5 & 6 + Lotus Flowers

Hello!  I finally got back into my craft room today to start catching up on Christmas in July!

 

My first card for Christmas in July Day 5 uses Stampin’ Up! and I am entering this card into the ABC Christmas Challenge – N is for No Rules.

I used the Among the Branches stamp set and the Woodland embossing folder. The patterned papers are from the All is Calm designer paper series.

My second card is for Christmas in July Day 6 and uses Verve stamps and Carta Bella paper. I used texture paste with a stencil from MFT which I heat set. I added some stickles to the branch image.  I am entering this card into the Anything Goes challenge at Craft Rocket Challenges.

And lastly I have a floral birthday card I made using Waffle Flower stamps and Bo Bunny papers. The flowers were stamped and then cut out with my Scan N Cut and colored with copics.

My Niece’s Baptism Card

My niece was baptized on Sunday and I made this customized card for her.

 

2016 Card 59 - Madelyn baptism card

 

It took me awhile to put it together as I don’t typically make religious cards.  I found a cross in a Verve Christmas stamp set and I made the sentiment using Lawn Fawn’s Milo ABC’s stamp set. I think I did pretty good!  The embossed background is from an old Cuttlebug embossing folder from the Decorative Tile set.

 

Here is a picture of my beautiful niece 🙂  She is 5 months old now.

I made this card last night for Viva La Verve’s July Week 4 Sketch but ran out of time to post.  That’s what happens when I craft late at night!

 

2015 Card 81 - Verve Joyous Noel

 

This is another favorite of mine.  Great sketch that allowed me to mix lots of different patterns together and I used two Verve sets for the first time, Die Cut Sidekickes (tag) and Joyous Noel (flower and sentiment).  Love the fonts in Joyous Noel!

Well…seeing as it is the 31st, I am obviously not going to have the rest of the cards done by midnight LOL.  However, I will keep plugging away over the weekend and next week to finish up.  I’ve been picking a challenge a day to use as inspiration and I still want to make more holiday cards since I haven’t even made a dent in my stash!

 

I am off for now to pack for a crop.  Instead of packing Christmas though, I’ve set aside stuff for next month’s theme which I will post about in the morning (or you can see a peek in my sidebar!)

Christmas in July 2015 – Day 22

Tonight’s card is for the Inspired by a Christmas Carol challenge at Holly Jolly Christmas and the tall & skinny sketch at Mojo Monday.

 

My usual go to Christmas songs are Rudolph the Red Nosed Reindeer and Frosty the Snowman.  I mentioned to my husband that I wanted to do a song challenge and he said Silent Night. I remembered I had a few stamp sets from Verve that were released last year and chose Weary World and O Holy Night as my song.

 

2015 Card 79 - Verve Weary World

 

I broke my rule of using the papers I chose for this month.  I didn’t have anything traditional in that pile so I used Bo Bunny’s Christmas Cottage from last year.  I wrapped some twine from The Twinery around my card panel before gluing it down.  The image was colored with my Zig Color Clean brushes, it’s been awhile since I used them.
